Before the days of self service, this colorful independent gas station stood proudly in the late '70s. Violet shadows enhance the vivid memories of days gone by.

What others have said about Gas Station:

most colorful & memoralbe

As in Foster Freeze, Gas Station has brought the memories flooding back. My grandparents lived in San Pedro, as did I and I can remember being with my Grandpa in his old Ford Coupe and having to pull in and get gas. Many memories are in this artwork.

Great paintings

This makes me recall a time when Service was a friendly face not a series of numbers when trying to make a contact. It was also a time of remembering friends and family and when a family was a family of two parents.

This shot is 7th & Mesa I believe ...the kitchen center is still there but the gas station is long gone....excellent colors....steve, your the best!

I hope you get awards for your mixing of colors!! I feel like I want to be back in the late 60's early 70's again. The biggest compliment I can give you is you are the Best Watercolor artist ever. I have a great apreciation for your work. I will be starting my first watercolor class soon at an Art Institute here PA. I am so nervous but very excited to see what I can do. I hope to own one of your prints in the near future.

very powerful use of light!

Looks like a spot on Gaffey. How 'bout a pix of the old Lochman Farms Dairy on Western . . .

I find something alluring in old gas stations. Perhaps its the way the light sparkles off of the unkempt buildings and pumps. Your handling of light and color is magnificent and I am drawn by the vivid blue gas pump.

This picture sets the example that new is just change-not better all around.
