Roots
Okaloosa Island, Florida

image

On the edge of the bay, a tree has fallen revealing the roots that will someday serve as the anchor for a growing dune.

Please, take a second and tell us your thoughts on this painting.

What others have said about Roots:

I am a Florida native. This reminds me of what it used to look like at Ft Myers beach before it was all built up. Such a nice memory! Thank you Trudy

I really like this painting. The colors are vivid and the combination of colors is striking. This reminds me of the beach after a storm with drift wood, new and old lying around. You can see beyond the beach which gives me a feeling depth and open air. I enjoy seeing all your watercolors, you use color very well. Watercolor painting is very challenging and your painting is wonderful.

I liked the green used with your magenta colors used and a simple but nice subject.

"Roots" reminds me of the Sleeping Bear Dunes area of Michigan where we camp and tramp, loving "our" sea Lake Michigan

THis is my favorite because you captured this lighting in Florida perfectly. I remember everything lookin like it had a hue of alizarin crimson or mauve to it and WOW....you took me right back there when I saw this piece. I use to go jogging at exactly a beach and I have such great memories of this time and you captured it wonderfully. All your pieces capture the Florida light as well as the Calif. light exceptionally well. Your work with boats is exceptional as well.

We love your new painting, Roots. You have a great web site. Bob
