This quaint Craftsman-style house has a view of Palos Verdes on the left and King Harbor on the right. On a clear day, Catalina Island can be seen. Please, take a second and tell us your thoughts on this painting. What others have said about Catalina Avenue: This painting so typifies the South Bay and brings back many memories. I do not know you since I came to RUHS the year you graduated but I certainly admire your talent. It was hard to select a favorite; there are so many. Did you have Mr. McClain for an art teacher? He is coming to our 50th reunion this September. Just curious! Thank you for your beautiful watercolors. Hi Steve really like this painting love the sky colour and the house the sort of house I would like to live in never been to California, one day we my get there. best wishes from mark ps any chance of a little information on your techniques paper colours etc! Your are are very talented artist. I believe this painting will make you very famous. Your painting is very beautiful. The house in Redondo Beach is (believe or not) still standing. Your painting brings very many wonderful memories of days past. Thank you. this a nice site.i will call back next time I love the warm sky, cool lavenders, and the palm tree. But most of all I love the fact that you chose to paint that simple craftsman home. I am a fourth generation L.A. native, I no longer live in the Golden State but one glance at your California paintings and I know I'm back home. It brought tears to my eyes as soon as I seen this painting. I was 4 yrs old when my Mother married again and we had our first home with my new Dad right near this house. Thank you for the beautiful painting. It is wonderful feeling to see the past and realize how wonderful that place was in 1941. What a wonderful memory this picture brings to me. As a young girl I would walk home past this house from the Seaside Lagoon. To me this house represents the old Redondo Beach that I loved, before all the condos were built. What an incredible painting, it is like I am standing across the street on Catalina Avenue looking at this house like I did so many times before.
